C-Bus Repairs - What are common problems?

The most common problem we see with touch screens is age. As they get older they lose colour and the screen becomes dull and hard to read. They also act as the main controller in more complexed functions such as scenes and timed events. So as they begin to fail events may start happening at odd times or not at all. If this is happening at your place it's time to upgrade to the newer AC2 system. The AC2 is an IP based internet system, which is viewed via an iPad, tablet or smart phone. Also capable of remote access from anywhere in the world (provided you have internet access) if your system has been set up to include this feature.

Sensors that are installed outside and exposed to weather on a daily basis are going to fail over time. Anything that is exposed 24/7 for years will breakdown. The most common problem we see is water in the unit. Sometimes you may even be able to see the water inside if you look closely.

Relays and dimmers control the loads e.g. a set of lights in the kitchen. Each channel controls a particular load. As they age they also eventually begin to fail and can send random comands through the system. This can happen intermittantly at first and progress to complete failure. A frustrating problem, but with a little persistance it can be indentified and replaced. 

Some of your wall switches work a lot harder than others. The best example of this are switches at entry and exit points. A faulty switch can cause problems on the network. It starts sending out random comands or might just stop working all together.
